Engaging with customers. Google’s new ad format on tweet-based ads for boosting twitter followers.
Last year in October Google announced a partnership with Twitter. A partnership which costs Google $15 million. Now we know what this deal is all about. Google will display twitter tweets in his own content network. Currently this new ad format is on a limited beta and it has been available to a few advertisers the last couple of weeks.
Tweet-based ads will help companies to reach a bigger audience and to get more followers.
But let’s get in detail and let’s try to figure out what the features and benefits will look like, if companies are going to use tweet-based ads. But first of all, to have a better understanding I have to explain how it all works.

The tweet-based ads are synchronizing automatically with the companies twitter channel. The Ads will appear in a box, using banner formats we already know while using Google’s Content Network. Depending on the displayed format the twitter bird icon can be shown in the lower left-hand corner or if the ad has a skyscraper format under the advertisers latest tweet. The advertisers latest tweet is always somehow in the center of each ad. In the same text box the Companies name and logo can be on the left-hand corner or on the upper side of the text box. In addition, users have the chance to click on a ‘follow me on twitter’ button which is embedded in the ad as well, located in the lower area of the ad. By clicking on this button the user can follow the company without leaving the current page the user is visiting. Clicking on any other part of the ad directs the user to the advertiser’s Twitter page.

Tweet-based ads will help companies to reach a bigger audience and to get more followers. More followers means more interaction with current clients and prospects. Companies have the chance to make users aware of new products and to share company related news. If the user feels a connection to the advertising company, they start to interact.
How all this is going to effect our clients Twitter performance will be a story in a different blog post in a few weeks.
First of all, let’s get white-listed!
