Google murdered Doodle – yesterday was Bingle Birthday

How annoying was that? Yesterday millions of Google users worldwide wondered what’s up with my clean white nice Google background. Background pictures changed every time you were on Google. Is this a deja-vu ? Did I end up accidentally on Bing?

Not that we didn’t have enough trouble this week with the Google ban in Turkey on lots of products like Google Translate, Google Docs and so on. Analytics was slow, data wasn’t collected, Traffic dropped, Revenues declined, Phones rang, big crisis. Anyways, back to our topic.

So, I guess not so many people follow Google’s official blog daily where it was announced as “the art of a homepage” The main idea was to give you inspiration for what you can do with your Google background from now on…OK, that’s very nice, but how do you turn this great feature off? Where is it? Am I blind? I couldn’t find it. By the way I wasn’t alone with this thought. Please see below Google’s hot searches list from yesterday “remove Google background”

Oh and if you see hot search No 1 that’s a rumor Russell Crowe didn’t die, he is still living happily ever after.

What died after 24h yesterday was luckily the changing background pictures.
Thank you Google, please no more international roll-outs in Turkey like this when we still don’t know if there will be one morning a full black screen instead of the wonderful soccer doodle from today!
